I've used some different "tools of the trade" here...Glue Gloss, Sparkle Fibers, and Petaloo white velvet leaves colored with Clearsnap inks. It's a collagey card, with a lot happening on it, but I think the different elements work together because the three color groups seem to agree with each other. Hope you agree!
Here are the supplies and directions for this card...
- ColorBox Fluid Chalk Alabaster Inkpad (undercoat on the flower)
- ColorBox Fluid Chalk Tangerine Inkpad
- ColorBox Fluid Chalk Lime Pastel Inkpad
- ColorBox Fluid Chalk Olive Pastel Inkpad
- ColorBox Fluid Chalk Chestnut Roan Inkpad
- ColorBox Sweet Melon Inkpad
- Vivid! Olive Inkpad
- ColorBox Stylus Handle
- ColorBox White Oval Tips (5)
- Opalescent Clear Embossing Powder
- Limesicle Sparkle Fibers
- Glue Gloss
Stamps
- Memory Box Garden Cutaway
- Membory Box Happiest Birthday
Other Products
- Paper Accents Muslin Harvest Moon Cardstock
- Paper Accents Muslin Clay Pot Cardstock (4-5/8" x 6-1/4" card)
- Bazzill Sour Apple Cardstock
- Bazzill Hillary Cardstock
- Petaloo White Velvet Color Me Leaves
- Alvin Blue Hills Studio Chipboard Flower
- 3/8" Circle Punch
- Sanding Block
Directions
- Apply a light layer of Alabaster to the flower using the Stylus Handle and Tip and allow the ink to dry
- Using the Stylus Handle and another Tip, ink the flower with Tangerine and allow it to dry
- Ink the leaves with LIme Pastel using the Stylus Handle and Tip
- After the Lime Pastel has dried, highlight the embossed areas of the leaves using Olive Pastel and another Tip
- Stamp Garden Cutaway on the smoother side of the Harvest Moon Cardstock with Chestnut Roan
- Trim it along the edges of the design and ink the edges using the Stylus Handle, Tip and Chestnut Roan
- Distress the edges of the inked and dried flower with the sanding block
- Stamp Happiest Birthday on the smoother side of Sour Apple Cardstock with Olive
- Stamp the butterfly (attached to the side of the Happiest Birthday stamp) with Sweet Melon and emboss it with Opalescent Clear powder
- Cut it into a strip and ink the edges with Chestnut Roan
- Cut a 2-5/8" X 1-1/4" strip of Hillary Cardstock and ink the edges with Chestnut Roan
- Assemble the card
- Punch a 3/8" circle of Sour Apple Cardstock and attach it to the center of the flower
- Cover the circle with a thick layer of Glue Gloss and gently press a mound of Limesicle Sparkle Fibers into the glue
- Allow the glue to dry, then tap off the excess fibers
